Mind Trash Primer Delete Limiting Beliefs

Mind Trash Primer

Mind Trash is a euphemistic term for anything in your mind that could possibly hold you back from being as successful as you’d like to be.  In my experience everyone has some Mind Trash.  As children we are exposed to the world around us but have very limited ability to make sense of it.  So we make up what things mean.  We create a belief system to help us explain and make sense of these things.  But what we don’t realize in our immaturity is that these early beliefs are the foundation for the rest of our lives.

To illustrate this let’s look at a child in a loving home but that gets dropped off at day care each day when the parents go to work.  The child may feel abandoned even though they are only away from the parents for a short time each day.  As a young child you don’t have the mental capacity to comprehend the need for going to work, what money is all about, patience, love, etc.  You can only see that you are being left with a stranger.  How does a child rationalize that?  What beliefs do they choose because of this?  They may believe that they are unlovable, or that they are unwanted, or that they are not valued, or a host of other possibilities.  Are any of them true?  Maybe.  But what is true is that the child will create some sort of belief system based on what their mind can comprehend at the time.  And the sad truth is that those beliefs may shape the rest of their lives.

Now that you are aware of this you can go back into your past and look for the beliefs that you may have chosen erroneously.  Be easy on yourself – you were doing the best you could with the resources you had at the time.  But now, with more resources and knowledge and life experience you can go back into your subconscious mind, into the past, and delete the decisions to have the beliefs that no longer serve you disappear.
